Can I Use Alcohol To Clean Printer Head?

I highly recommend using Hateful Light-green (or Uncomplicated Green if you can't find Hateful Dark-green) to make clean the resin off your prints.

Information technology is a better cleaner and much cheaper! Mean Green is $5/gallon at Lowes, compared to $xv/quart for Denatured Alcohol and $25/gallon for 99% Isopropyl Alcohol on Amazon.

"Mean Green" is not available in Europe equally far equally I know .. non fifty-fifty in the United kingdom. BUT .. v liters of IPA are €18, which is still ok. If anybody knows the "European Mean Light-green" .. delight postal service information technology.

Does IPA in the The states take some added chemicals to discourage people from drinking it? I keep seeing people from the Us mutter most the smell of IPA, even so to me it'due south very low odour and merely smells like a clear booze such every bit Vodka?

At least hither in the Britain I'll stick with IPA for at present - it'due south not very expensive for a 5L canteen, it doesn't odor and it has other uses such as cleaning electronics.

I use a mixture of Dreft Platinum (or Fairy is it called in some parts of Europe) and tap water, to clean the prints in a US cleaner

How do you dispose of the Hateful Green solution when it becomes muddy. With the IPA, I could place the container out in the lord's day until the whole thing turned into a solid rubbery block of "cheese". Then let information technology dry out and dispose of the fully cured solids.

How practice you clean it out of your Ultra Sonic cleaner? And exercise y'all have to modify it out frequently?

Thanks for your input, as I really want to stop using the IPA... the fumes are irritating, even with a proper respirator and cartridges, the fumes linger in my piece of work space. (Yes, I need to add amend ventilation)!

Not all alcohols are the aforementioned. IPA is Isopropyl Booze, often called "rubbing alcohol" since it can exist used to disinfect skin and clean surfaces. IPA is toxic and doesn't need whatever additives to make information technology hazardous. A small amount isn't a big deal, but if you are working with large volumes or for long periods of time (such equally washing prints), IPA tin cause neurological problems. You should always work with good ventilation when using it.

IPA isnon the same equally the Ethyl Booze (aka "grain alcohol") yous can drink. You may also observe "denatured" alcohol (aka "methylated spirits"), which is ethyl alcohol with additives (like methyl booze) that make it united nations-drinkable to avoid some of the regulations on drinking booze.

Has anyone tested the difference between the standard Simple Greenish and the "Lemon Scented" Simple Dark-green? I institute it at the store the other day, and since the regula dark-green wasn't bachelor in the large canteen, I got the lemon scented. Unfortunately, I haven't had dandy success cleaning prints. It does was off most of the extra resin, but I seem to e'er have a sticky film of resin on my prints and they don't seem to get as make clean as when I apply IPA.

Simply curious if anyone has establish standard Elementary Greenish works differently than the Lemon scented version.

I have had worse than miserable success attempting to use Mean Dark-green to clean regular (intended to exist cleaned with IPA) resin prints, all it does is gum upwards the uncured resin and make a terrible gummy mess of everything that comes into contact with that gooey reside...

Been using Klean-Strip denatured alcohol stove fuel with good results--non inexpensive @ United states of america$22 per gallon, but it works...

Used some Everclear on some test prints and the results were far better. I remember I am going to keep the Uncomplicated Green to use on my tools and use alcohol for my prints from at present forward.
